About self-adhesive labels
Self-adhesive labels are the largest label category. Self-adhesive simply means that the label can be applied without wetting the adhesive, which was common before the invention of the glue used for self-adhesive labels.
Self-adhesive labels are delivered in rolls, sheets and single or individual pieces. Adhesive labels come in hundreds of standard sizes and shapes. Custom sizes and shapes can be cut from special dies and can be digitally cut using plotters and laser technology. From self-adhesive wall labels cut out for football player photos to simple 2" circular stock dots, you can design self-adhesive labels to fit any need.
Materials used in self-adhesive labels include adhesives and label facestocks or substrates. Different materials are combined in specific ways to meet the many unique requirements of self-adhesive labels. In the most common types, permanent adhesives are used in conjunction with paper; these labels should not be exposed to harsh conditions and will stick to common materials such as paper. Address labels are a typical example of these types of stickers. to create self-adhesive labels for use as industrial graphic overlays or graphic overlays on military equipment.
Different label materials maintain permanent label durability over time. Permanent labels can be made from almost any substrate, usually paper, vinyl, polyester or even aluminum.
